The chapter collects packages of white socks, undershirts, briefs as well as paperback books, magazines and stamped Christmas cards for the VA Hospital. We also provide backpacks stuffed with goodies for hospitalized veterans during the holiday season.
De Anza Chapter collects dress socks, ties, belts, hooded sweatshirts, jeans and tennis shoes for the homeless veterans and the veterans in the 12-Step Program.
Challenged Athletes Operation Rebound Surf Therapy Clinic
De Anza members help cook and serve meals quarterly for veterans and service members who suffer from physical or emotional disabilities, including PTSD. They participate in surf therapy and then are served a hot, bbq lunch on the beach.
We collect Box Tops for Education to support the DAR schools. We also send care packages for the students at Tamassee DAR School and household supplies for residential students at the Hindman Settlement School.
Wreaths Across America Ceremonies
What began in 1992 with a trailer load of wreaths, decorated by volunteers and laid at the graves of fallen soldiers at Arlington has now become a national organization with over 700 participating locations - all focused on the mission to Remember - Honor - and Teach. Each year our chapter participates and sponsors the ceremonies at Miramar and Fort Rosecrans National Cemeteries.
